Saturday 5th December 2009 WSC Under 7's v Chadderton Grasshoppers

This much anticipated encounter certainly lived up to its media billing.

A depleted Walshaw side without the midfield due of Han and Samuel and manager Mike travelled to Chadderton Grasshoppers, the match being switched a few hours before kick off.

The large pitch enabled both sides to pass the ball around with ease and the game swung one way then the other with the half time score being 2 - 2.  Man of the match William scoring two excellent first half goals. The second consisted of six passes before finally being put away. There was plenty of support from Bailey in centre midfield and JJ, Elijah and Michael on the wings which enabled Walshaw to counter attack on numerous

occasions.

The second half was much tighter with Alec and Nathan staying solid at the back and Luke putting in

yet another fine performance in goal. Walshaw finally took the lead with Bailey sliding home

what turned out to be the winner. Walshaw held on for the last 10 minutes with Chadderton applying constant late pressure.

A well contested game, played in excellent spirit.
