Tournament Report - WSC U7 at the Radcliffe Boro Tournament

 

Saturday 15th May 2010 at Radcliffe Boro.

 

On a glorious Saturday morning the under 7's took to the playing field at Close Park, well supported as usual by a crowd of brothers, sisters, parents and grandparents.

 

In a round robin of group matches Walshaw had a tough draw, with 12 minute matches against Little Lever, Chaddy End and a final match against local rivals Radcliffe Boro A.

 

All 3 games proved to be tough affairs, WSC got off to a great start against Little Lever, with Bailey grabbing the only goal of the game and the defence holding firm.

 

The second match against Chaddy End seemed to go by in a flash, Chaddy End rarely got a look in as WSC's defence and strong midfield took control of the game. A great finish by William earning the team a deserved win.

 

In the final match WSC faced the only other team in the group with a 100% record, Radcliffe Boro A. In the 2 league fixtures this season these teams couldn't be separated, but in the tournament Radcliffe never got a look in. Bailey finishing in great style to win the match and give WSC stats of Played 3 Won 3 Goals For 3 Goals Against 0.

 

The boys really did play some awesome football and the smiles on their faces (and the proud supporters) was testament to how much it meant to all concerned. The medals shone brightly as the team made their way home.

 

WELL DONE GUYS YOUR PERFORMANCES WERE WORTHY OF WINNING A TROPHY - AWESOME!!!
