Bury Amateurs Panthers U7 v WSC U7

Saturday 13th February 2010

No frost and no rain, with a very reasonable 1030 kick off at Drinkwater Park everybody had a smile on their face!

With regular keeper Luke away the Managers turned to their reliable stand in Samuel to maintain the unbeaten run! Wearing a "Pepe Reina" yellow top he looked just the part and his Man of the Match performance in the second half proved how successful Marshy's Friday Night Keeper training really is!

Walshaw got off to a flier - Bailey playing a superb through ball for the deadly William to finish cooly in the net. This did not put the Panthers off and with a very skilful number 6 running their midfield they attacked WSC and deservedly got a goal back.

WSC's passing game is coming on a treat and once again some fantastic combinations between JJ, William and then on to Bailey who slid the ball into the goal. WSC played some good football but had to rely heavily on the busy Han to maintain their lead.

William showed what a class striker he is finishing off some great passing after Elijah won the ball in midfield to extend the lead but the Panthers came back to leave it 2-3 at the break.

The second half was just as competitive and it was only down to great saves from both keepers that the score did not double! The midfield was well contested but it was the strike play of Hat Trick Hero William that got the next goal, showing persistence he hit a ball from all of 12 yards into the top right hand corner. He surely wont hit a better shot this season - or will he?

This only gave the Panthers more reason to press and to be honest they could have scored several but for the cat like diving of Samuel. They did score a very good third, but with Nathan on fine form in defence it finished 3-4. Another fantastic morning's entertainment!

Crowd - 30 with at least 7 grandparents watching on!

Thanks

Mike & Jon
